Oman Sets National Day Product Licensing Deadline
Muscat, Oman: Businesses and producers preparing commercial products and celebration supplies for Oman’s upcoming National Day have been urged to secure the necessary approval before printing or manufacturing items that feature official national symbols.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) has set October 15, 2026, as the final date for submitting applications for approval.
Approval Required Before Production
Companies planning to place certain national symbols on National Day merchandise must obtain approval before beginning printing or production.
The requirement applies to products featuring:
- The image of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik
- The State Emblem of Oman
- The Omani national flag
- The map of the Sultanate of Oman
Businesses applying for approval are required to submit their applications to the Ministry’s Licensing Department, along with images or samples showing how the national symbols will appear on the proposed products.
October 15 Is the Key Deadline
Businesses intending to produce National Day-themed merchandise are encouraged to complete the licensing process well before the October 15, 2026 deadline.
The requirement is particularly relevant to companies producing or selling commercial merchandise, promotional materials and celebration supplies that incorporate Oman’s official symbols.
The Ministry’s official government services also provide a dedicated approval service for the use of the national emblem, national flag and images of His Majesty on commercial products.
Some Symbols Are Strictly Prohibited
The Ministry has also highlighted symbols that cannot be used on commercial products. These include images of:
- The Royal Emblem
- Royal Mosques
- Royal Palaces
Businesses should therefore review their product designs carefully before printing, manufacturing or distributing National Day merchandise.
Important Reminder for Oman Businesses
With National Day preparations gathering pace, companies are being encouraged to ensure their products comply with Oman’s commercial regulations and obtain the required approvals in advance.
For businesses planning National Day merchandise, checking the licensing requirements before production begins can help avoid delays and ensure that products featuring national symbols are prepared in accordance with the applicable rules.
